The Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour is one of Nepal's shortest
yet most interesting religious excursions. An hour and a half is roughly how
long the entire tour lasts, including the flight time. Thousands of tourists
choose Gosaikunda each year over a number of other travel sites in Nepal. This
is mostly due to the Gosaikunda Lake's religious significance and the
breathtaking mountain ranges that surround it. If you enjoy thrilling, daring
flights that take you to gorgeous settings surrounded by gigantic snow-capped
Himalayas, the Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour is a no-brainer for you.
Gosaikunda Lake, also known as "Gosainkunda," has
been identified as a sacred location in Nepal that is highly revered by both
Hindus and Buddhists. Gosaikunda Lake is an alpine freshwater lake that is
situated in Rasuwa region of Langtang National Park at an elevation of 4,380m
(14,370 ft). The lake's surface, which covers around 34 acres, is mostly frozen
from October through June during the winter season. Winter does, however, have
certain advantages. If you visit Gosaikunda Lake in the winter, the
snow-covered landscape will give you lovely memories. The Gosaikunda Lake has
something special to offer in every season, regardless of the season.
Beginning at the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan
International Airport in Kathmandu, the Gosaikunda Helicopter Tour takes off.
It takes an hour to go from Kathmandu to Gosaikunda in both directions.
Following a brief introduction of our captains and some advice on the necessary
safety precautions, the aircraft takes off. Additionally, they'll provide you
advice on how to handle a crisis. Because we never compromise on safety, Blue
Mountain Travels and Tours Pvt Ltd has a reputation for operating safe
helicopter flights. Therefore, before we even start the trip, we make sure that
all of the safety standards have been met.
Following the briefing, the helicopter departs, leaving the
runway in its wake, and moves toward the north. Within a few minutes of
takeoff, we enter Langtang National Park as we soar over Kathmandu's crowded
city. After circling above the sporadic Tamang villages and flying next to the
enormous, lush green hills, we will arrive at Gosaikunda Lake in about 15 to
20 minutes.
At 4,380 meters above sea level, at Gosaikunda, we will land
safely to the backdrop of the enormous Langtang mountain range. Spending more
than 30 minutes could lead to altitude sickness because we would have gone to
4,000+m in under half an hour. It is extremely unlikely, though. We therefore
begin exploring the area to make the most of our brief window of opportunity.
The Gosaikunda Lake appears surreal in person and emits a calming vibe that is
conducive to letting go of everything and simply being in the moment. The
massive mountains of the Langtang range will be all around you. At Gosaikunda,
the weather can quickly change from being sunny to being snowy. The air is
normally very thin and the surroundings are very cold. The journey concludes
after breakfast at the renowned Gosaikunda tea house as we take out for the
airport in Kathmandu.
